Initially you may think that the buoys will not be that easy to see when in the water but the buoys stand out against the green reeds on the banks and are clearly visible.

PRIZES AND GIVE-AWAYS
All finishers receive a medal.
WATER QUALITY
The water is clean but not clear. Visibility is restricted to about half-a-metre and is quite brown.
LAYOUT
There is a common start and finish point on a slipway which allows easy access to and from the water. The course goes around four day-glow orange, pyramid-shaped buoys. The way the course is laid out allows spectators to see much of the action.
FACILITES
The facilities at the dam are permanent and include ablution blocks with showers and changing areas. There is ample parking at the venue. The edge of the dam is grassed and has a number of trees offering shade with ample space for spectators. The organisers arrange stalls to sell food and refreshments.
